Lessons Produced in the 2015 COTSEAL Instructor Professional Development Workshop


In Septemeber, 2015, with funding from Title VI, a professional development workshop on content-based instruction (CBI), for Southeast Asian language instructors, was held at UC-Berkeley. In June, 2016, a follow-up workshop was held at UW-Madison. A third workshop, funded by the Luce Foundation, will be held at Cornell University in September, 2017.

As part of the workshop, language-specific groups of instructors worked together in fall 2015/spring 2016 to develop content-based language instruction lessons. These lessons were then taught in classrooms and were video recorded. From March to May, 2016, a second lesson was produced by each language group, except Burmese (due to only two instructors being in that group). You can see the second group of lessons here.
